Once the application is received it is checked by the Gateway Officer.
If we need any additional information before we can process the application we will contact the referrer or the applicant. If an application has very little detail this will delay the application while we obtain it.
All referrals are assessed according to need, and a service is provided first to those people with the most pressing need.
If you are homeless, the Gateway Team will forward your details to the Home Options Team for further advice and information.
Receiving a Service
As vacancies arise in services we pass referrals onto the support providers. The support providers work on behalf of the Council under contract.
The providers will contact the applicant to invite them to attend an interview so that they can find out some background and what type of support is needed.
After the interview the provider will agree when the support service can start.
